Privacy Policy

This policy explains the information collected when someone visits Curry County Criminal History, the reasons it is used, and the limited circumstances in which it may be disclosed. By continuing to use the website, you acknowledge the practices stated below.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that feature. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Curry County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email or contact submission may be retained so that we can respond. We keep those messages within our organization and disclose them outside it only when the law requires us to do so.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, the site's servers automatically receive basic technical information about that visit:

  • Page-view dates and times
  • Your device's assigned IP address
  • Browser name and version
  • Operating system and device category
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them
  • The referring website, when one is reported

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files saved on a visitor's device. We use them with analytics services to understand aggregate traffic, including popular pages and points where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although disabling them may change how some website functions behave.

What We Do With This Data

  • Routing search queries to the applicable partner service
  • Maintaining website availability, speed, and operation
  • Finding and correcting technical problems
  • Understanding which pages are useful or need improvement
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Curry County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal-record information. It explains how to find records held by the Curry County Sheriff's Records Division, Curry County Circuit Court, Oregon State Police Criminal Justice Information Services, and the Oregon Public Sex Offender Registry. The website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by the provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure practices, so review those terms before entering a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Curry County offices, Oregon court portals, state agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once you follow an external link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.

Some advertising companies may use activity across websites to select targeted advertising. That processing occurs through their systems rather than ours.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Information may be disclosed to:

  • Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
  • Search partners processing a submitted query
  • Advertising networks serving ads on the website
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable, standard security measures are used to protect collected information. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed completely secure, however, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.

Users Under 18

The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor provided such information, we will delete it promptly.

Your Data Rights

Rights may vary with where you live. Oregon Public Records Law, ORS 192.311–192.478, applies to records held by Oregon public bodies, while ORS 181A.220 and ORS 181A.245 govern access to and dissemination of criminal-offender information. Those laws do not convert this private website into a government records custodian. With respect to information we hold, you may:

  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Ask for a copy of information held about you
  • Opt out of certain processing where that choice is available
  • Ask that eligible information be deleted

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised from time to time. Any revised version will appear here with an updated effective date, so visitors should review this page periodically for changes.
